He may just be a young 20 year old from Orlando Florida but this isn’t Braiden Wood’s first rodeo . He’s been a professional musician in a band for the past 6 years and is ready to embark on this new musical journey on his own, and seems to have the limitless support to get him far. We can’t wait for his new music to come out, and had the chance to catch up with him regarding his new adventure and debut EP!

1.) Your debut EP “Be Free Be Strong” comes out on the 22nd. That’s exciting! What was the inspiration behind the name of the EP?

Be Free, Be Strong is a lyrics in one of my songs (Freeze Time) that really described how I motivated myself in that particular part of my life. I felt it was only appropriate for that to be the album title.

2.) How do you feel about going out and being solo after so many years in a band?

It’s honestly a little frightening but everything is new and it seems like it’s going to be a fun new chapter for me. I think the important thing is I have awesome friends and family to keep me grounded and I’m playing music that I believe has purpose.

3.) You recently posted a mashup of Pompeii by Bastille and Safe & Sound by Capital Cities. Do you plan to post more covers in the future?

Yes! Covers are a fun / creative outlet for many musicians today and as long as there’s music out there that is relevant to me, you can expect me to do something with it.

4.) What are three words you would use to describe your music?

Hopeful. Positive. Encouraging.

5.) As a song writer what were the inspirations or ideas behind each song?

Most of these songs I’ve actually had for years. I wrote them in different trials of my life and also in the times where everything is going great. There are some songs about girls, about getting through tough times, and others that are just fun.

6.) Which is your favorite song from the EP and why?

This is a really hard question to answer for me. I think my favorite is Superman cause it’s the last one I wrote on the album but I really enjoy Lead Me Home as well.

7.) Do you have plans to tour with your new music?

Not as of right now. We will see what the future holds though.

8.) Speaking of touring, your playing in Manila this May! How do you feel about traveling over there for a show? Any big plans?

It’s such a huge and totally undeserved opportunity but I’m beyond excited for it! It seems like it’s going to be very up close and personal with the fans over there and I’ve got a cool show in the works.

9.) Who’s your celebrity crush?

Katy Perry. Forsure.

10.) What’s a song that you can’t stop listening to lately?

Pompeii by Bastille and Love Alone is Worth the Fight by Switchfoot. Even tie.

11.) Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?

Thanks for supporting me in so many different ways. It truly makes my life entertaining and I wouldn’t be able to do ANY of the things I’ve done without you guys. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so supportive and awesome! Love you guys!

The Strive recently came out with video for their song “Bury Me Under” from their Caught Inside EP. Check it out the video above and buy the song here.

Marshall Cunningham recently came out with his music video for his song “Tell Me Where To Go”  which will be available on iTunes October 24th. Check it out!

Just a couple days until the anticipated new album Battle Scars from Paradise Fears is out on June 25th and they’re already making an impact when they released their music video for their new song  ”What Are You Waiting For?”.

In less than 24 hours the video is already up to 8,000+ views, their fans managed to get #WAYWF as the #1 trending topic on twitter quickly and when I logged into my facebook, it was swarmed with people talking about and sharing the video.

As many old-time and current Paradise Fears fans know, the line “what are you waiting for?” was previously used in their song “Just A Feeling” off their full-length Yours Truly,  released 2 years ago. But contrary to that being the case, this line is used in an eternally new aspect on this song. It questions us all what we’re waiting for, why aren’t we going out and doing the things that we want to in life? If we don’t start now, will we ever get there?  Because after all, “this world is only there for those willing to take it”.

Back in May when they released the first single off the album “Lullaby”, you could tell they weren’t that pop/rock band anymore and the trend continues with this release. The guitar chords, beat and vocals all ring out a sound much more pop than their previous albums and EPs. It reminds me of the many covers they’ve posted on youtube. Though, part of this could be due to the spoken-word that is used in the song, as lead singer, Sam Miller seemed to always find a way to sneak an original rap into many of the covers. The bands does hold strong with their perfect expression of inspiring lyrics but the music video is what really takes you by the heart and leads you to a place where dreaming is doing.

A couple months ago Paradise Fears asked their fans to send in their bucket-list to them, saying they’d see what they could do and this video proves that they kept true to their words. The video takes us on mini-journies where people go out and do what they’ve been wanting to do.  From a guy wanting to conquer his fears and jumping on a crazy roller-coaster with Cole, to burning pictures around a fire to start over or wanting to commit therefore getting a tattoo (which Miller shows off the last couple seconds of the video)…this video covers it all. You can’t help but smile.

It’s obvious that there’s a change in the style of music but the love these guys have for their fans hasn’t changed a bit. It’s clearly shown when you watch each activity in the video. Every member is there right beside each person, cheering them on, supporting them and simply bringing a positive and happiness into the atmosphere.

Once I was done watching the video, I ended up making a bucket-list myself. This video is truly uplifting and inspiring, to say the least.

So, I guess this leaves us with one question…what are YOU waiting for?
